With the mix of organizations working on common
language for electronic commerce, it is essential that the
efforts are coordinated or we shall create a new "Tower of
Babel".
As major industrial corporations and administrations
have to deal internationally as well as nationally and cover
multiple sectors and languages, a common solution becomes an
essential requirement.
With ISO as the foremost international standardization organization
having a such strong presence in
most countries of the world, it is ideally placed to provide the coordinating function necessary to ensure that the variety of
solutions and developments are channeled into one effective program.
Working together in a full partnership approach can
deliver a universally satisfactory solution in a win-win manner.
ISO through ISO/TC154/WG1 is ready to provide this coordinating
function.
